The host cell : is the cell that hosts a virus or any other kind of disease causing organisms , and the verb host has the same meaning of hosting a guest , like if a guest coming to your home you should host him , and offer him the good atmoshpere to live ! , the same thing a cell does to a virus , when it offers him a good atmosphere to live so that it can start reproduction , as you all know , that virus is not considered a living thing unless it is inside a living cell . and that's why an animal or a plant cell - depends on the type of the virus - hosts it , so it can start reproduction .
