The story couldn't take place in a city or a desert because
cities don't have many wild animals and
most deserts don't have creeks.

The growing population requires more food and building
materials, so the rain forest are destroyed to provide farmland and timber.





















8. How are the three types of rain forests alike? How do they differ?





All three grow in warm, wet places, and their trees grow
tall and close together. Tropical rain forests grow near the equator, where the
climate is hot, and their trees are ever green. Cloud forest grow in the
mountains in tropical regions ,and their trees are shorter and deciduous.
Temperate rain forests grow farther from the equator, where there are distinct
seasons, and many of the trees are conifer.
