to show a division situation. Division can
mean sharing, repeated subtraction, or
finding a missing factor.

1). If a class has 3 times as many girls as
boys and there are 24 girls in the
class, how many boys are there?



Remember to use basic facts and
patterns to help you divide.
1). 600 ÷ 3
2). 200 ÷ 4
3). 2,500 ÷ 5
4). 5,400 ÷6

Remember that you can use rounding,
compatible numbers, or multiplication to
help you estimate quotients.

Estimate each quotient.
1). 731 ÷ 8
2). 1,548 ÷ 3
